Animation On A Solid Background or Transparent? |
Subject: Question I have a question? I animated this image last night. It had a transparent background and didn't work at all, the first time. So I made the background white and it worked perfect. Now, we're discussing the transparent background. Seems to me like it needs to have a solid background or the image will show through the transparency? So the question is----can you animate something on a transparent background? Thanks---- :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Subject: Re: Question = Answer absolutely! Here is a perfect example of animating on a transparent background that works better because of it. EZ Blinkie Maker What I did is I made the base "parts" With a 2 pixel bumper so to speak around them by using decorate at IM. Color code is transparent & you use border. 2x2+2+2 The reason Tricky-Mickey didn't work on a transparent back is because of the movement. He probably ghosted or blurred. Am I right? I have found that you need to build the frames on a black background and animate the image. THEN take it to transparent the background. If you had him skipping it one direction. Like skipping to the right you would have the image on a wider back and comp him so he was say: West on the first comp . . . Center on the second comp . . . East on the third comp . . . . But if you have him doing the can-can . . . . . . <> . . . . The image of mickey will be over lapping it's self. So it needs to be on a solid colored background. Make sense? . |
MOON ~ GLITTER PROBLEM |
HI JOSH, NANCEE AND I ARE HAVING TROUBLE ADDING GLITTER TO THINGS. WE'VE DONE IT BEFORE AND IT'S WORKED OK BUT NOW THINGS SEEM TO "JUMP" OR "FLASH". HERE'S MY NAME WITH ONE OF YOUR SILVER GLITTERS. I USED PAIR IMAGE MAGIC. ============================= (_Y_): Try Arbor or Net11. They are higher versions of the Magick Studio. Pair is locked at 5.8. They are at .... umm duh... Had to go look. I freegotz! V 6.1.7 I 'Try' to keep the versions updated on this page to the right of each IM is the version # http://www.scri8e.com/5/5-1/1DDToolsLists.html Animation is a bit tricky at the magick studios. It's getting more stable with the higher versions. In my blinkie tutes and the blanks I used a clear 2 pixel stabilizing 'bushing' so to speak. That seems to work well. ============================= ANNOTATED IN WHITE POINT SIZE 50 DENSITY 85 SET GRAVITY AT CENTER USED ATOP AND PUT A CHECK MARK IN TILE ACROSS. I USE A ALL PURPOSE 500X500 CLEAR GIF. ============================= (_Y_): Depending on what studio your using Donald it varies a lot with animation. IMO the studio that has the biggest fubar stats with animation is .... Pair... yup! Also with Pair if you rotate or flip in some cases a clear or clear in part image it does weird phreaky thangs. Try annotating on a black gif image then composite 'multiply' across and down. After you have glitter littered your image if you want it transparent around the image do that in paint. This is sometimes is the work-a-round for rowdy winking blinking shaking wah-toosing glitter. LOL ============================= I TRIED TRIMMING IT AT IMAGE MAGICK AND IT DISSAPEARED WHEN I WENT TO OUT PUT. ============================= (_Y_): =SHRIEK!!!= Danger Will Robbinson DANGER! Trim at Pair with animation? RUT ROW! Looked like you put that glitter name in a blender and flipped it to frappe' huh! Nope trim at IM and animation do not like one another. Yes gifworks = works! For .gif's Gee they even tell us that in the name. ============================= SO I BACKED UP AND LEFT IT FULL SIZE AND OUTPUTED AND IT WAS THERE. I THEN TOOK IT TO GIFWORKS AND SMARTCROPPED IT THERE. THE GLITTER NAME AND THE WHITE NAME SORT OF FLASH INSTEAD OF A STEADY GLITTER. ANY IDEA WHY? ============================= (_Y_): I know what your talking about. Kinda like the glitter is balding. LOL Why? I think it has something to do with the frames over laying and they kinda bond together and become solid or flat - sparkless balding spot. (greecian -sp? formula for glitter?) Try comping multiply center +1+1 sometimes that does it. Sometimes all your glitter goes BALD! You can also try F/X morph 1 frame. It will add another frame to the animation which will increase kbs=file size. It will also make it smoother and more shimmery. Kinda like that spray paint junk for bald spots. =grin= ============================= THANKS, HAPPY NEW YEAR, DONALD ============================= (_Y_): Your most welcome Donald and Nancee! Always a pleasure. Happy everything back to you both! |
