1.)
In gif format is the porthole with a clear center. It is 300x300. You composite this image 5 gravity "center" "over" a image you want the porthole center to be filled with. If your composited image is in gif format. I suggest you change the format to jpg when outputting to reduce file size. As a gif this "overlay" porthole image 5 is 41kb 300x300.

2.)
In gif format 6 is a white mask with a clear/transparent center. It is 302x302. You composite this image 6 gravity "center" "over" a image you want the porthole center to be filled with. Then composite porthole images 1, 2, 3, or porthole image 4 at the top of this page gravity "center" "Multiply". For the finished decorated porthole. If the image is in gif format I suggest when outputting to change the format to jpg to reduce file size.

3.)
In gif format is 7 a white circle with a clear/transparent square around it. It is 302x302. You composite a image gravity "center" "in" a image you want the porthole center to be filled with. Then composite porthole image 5 from step 1.) the porthole with a clear center. Compositing gravity "center" "Over". For the finished decorated porthole. The image WILL be in gif format. I suggest when outputting to change the format to jpg to reduce file size.

This tutorial was written on the assumption that you have a working knowledge of ImageMagick in general. This is not the best ImageMagick tutorial/project for a beginner. IMNHO
